Edwards to speak on wife’s health - John Edwards News - MSNBC.com

Well, this could throw a spanner in the works of the democratic party. I hope and pray John Edwards wife is well and has received a clean bill of health. Breast cancer is a serious issue and one that needs to be discussed frequently.  God willing, Elizabeth has received another good report on her health.  Either way, heath issues such as breast cancer, the financial devastation that occurs to cancer survivors and the absolutely, antiquated health system we have in this country should be on the front burner; not only with John Edwards but with all candidates.

I liked John Edwards when he ran with Kerry.  I don't know that he's my first pick at this point - I have to admit I like the idea of Barama and Hilary.  Luckily, I have time to pick and choose.

It seems so far off, the next election...and yet by everyone tossing in their hat so early, I think it's a good indication that people are recognizing how bad the country is doing - economically and politically.

I will absolutely shit a golden brick if another trick is pulled and those fucking republicans get into office again.  I have not met a single person in the last six years whose life has changed dramatically for the good (although, to be fair I don't really know any rich people).  I have, however, met many whose lives have changed for the worst.

I keep getting teased with rumors of impeaching George W.  Nothing happens - why not?  They jumped on the impeach Clinton bandwagon like ants to a picnic because he had oral sex with a WILLING participant.  Like he was the first?  Clinton may have lied...but no one died.  Old George though, what he's done is so far beyond comparison. The lies, the cover ups, the outright self serving political agenda to invade a country that has cost us billions (BILLIONS!!!!) of dollars and thousands of precious lives.  I won't even go into the fact he's a tongue twisted idiot with a smirk I find personally offensive.  Well, okay I did go into it a little bit, how could I not?   I'd think he was a fool if he wasn't so dangerous.  Oh alright, I still think he's a fool.

I only have one problem with impeaching George.  I guess I ought to brush up on my civics information so I'd know this but if George was impeached and found guilty, would that mean Cheney would then be Prez?  Obviously, that can't happen.  I reckon I don't even need to explain that.  (Hint:  hunting "accident"; "strokes", etc).

By now you've noticed I do not refer to George as "President".  He did not win the first election, Al Gore did.  I don't accept blatant trickery with election results and I don't accept George as president.  If this country was a monarchy instead of a democracy (at least, I hope it's still a democracy), George would be the mentally incompetent heir to the throne wreaking havoc across the globe while parliament and the common people try to oust him.  Hmmm, that takes us back to the impeachment, doesn't it?  Odd how that worked out.

My sister thinks it's treason to question the president.  I wish she'd read the constitution (but I'm glad she doesn't read my blog - she's pretty damn fiesty over this).  I've also noticed she only thinks that it's treason when a Republican is in office.  FYI, it's NOT treason to question the actions and policies of the any elected official. It's your right and privilege.

It'd be nice if the Dems in office would grow enough balls to do something about this mess.  I'd like to see some solidarity there.  I'm not in the mood for a pissing contest - I'm in the mood for some serious changes..and soon.

I haven't brought up Iraq because, quite frankly, that would have to be a whole separate post.

So, right now, it looks like we have Barama, Hilary and John throwing in their hats.  I'm not mentioning the Pubs cause there is no way in hell I'd vote for one of them...even if they managed to come up with a black, single mother of five who ran on a platform of free national health care and gigantic tax refunds for anyone making less than $50k a year.  I just couldn't do it because I'd know there would be this evil political machine behind her.  The last 6 years have toasted me - I can't do it anymore.  I am serious enough about this that if I don't get really, really good vibes about the Dem candidate (and there can be only one); I will switch to the independent or Green party without hesitation.

In fact, if push comes to shove, I might just write in my own name.  Or Al Gore.  Ha, wouldn't that be a kicker!!
